Potato Cheese Balls

Potato cheese balls are a delicious snack made from a mixture of mashed potatoes and cheese. They are a delightful and indulgent treat enjoyed by many, often served as appetizers or party finger foods.




Here's a basic recipe to make potato cheese balls:


Ingredients:


  • 2 cups mashed potatoes

  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped Capsicum

  • 1 tablespoon corn flour

  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Breadcrumbs for coating

  • 1/2 cup maida & water (pouring consistency)

  • All purpose flour (maida)

  • Oil for deep frying


Instructions:


  • In a bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, grated cheese, corn flour, chopped garlic, chili flakes, salt, pepper, chopped capsicum, and chopped coriander. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  • Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls. You can make them as big or small as you prefer.
  • Roll each ball in all-purpose flour, then the maida-water mixture, making sure it's well coated. You can use a fork to help with this process.
  • Finally, in breadcrumbs This will give the potato cheese balls a crispy exterior when fried.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat. 
  • The oil should be hot but not smoking. 
  • Carefully drop a few coated potato cheese balls into the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy on all sides. 
  • Once fried, remove the potato cheese balls using a spider strainer and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil. 
Serve the potato cheese balls hot with your favorite dipping sauce or ketchup.
